Optional Dental Coverage
The deadline to enroll in the Student Dental Plan is September 30 for the fall term and February 28 for the spring term
Spring term enrollment is for new incoming spring term students and students returning from a fall term leave of absence. Spring term enrollment is now available. See enrollment application for coverage dates and cost.
Enrollment or renewal in the Student Dental Plan is not automatic - an application must be submitted each academic year. For Academic Year 2013-14, Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) has partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) to offer an optional dental plan to students and their dependents. If you wish to participate in this plan, you must enroll by the September 30 open enrollment deadline. The plan year is August 1 – July 31.
What’s new for Academic Year 2013-14
- The plan is now administered through Dental Blue, a BCBSMA product.
- The plan year is 12 months: August 1 through July 31.
- All students will receive a Dental Blue ID card in the mail 7-10 business days after the start of coverage. Cards will be delivered to your local address available on file from your registrar’s office.
- Members are eligible to receive two cleanings, but they must be at least 6 months and 1 day apart.
