How HUSHP Works

The Harvard University Student Health Program (HUSHP) is made of two parts to support your health and wellbeing, the Student Health Fee and the Student Health Insurance Plan. This program ensures that students have access to comprehensive medical care on and away from campus. Note: Adult routine/preventive care is only covered at HUHS.

  • All students are charged this health fee as part of enrollment
  • The health fee provides access to most services at Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) for no additional cost, including primary care, medical care, counseling and mental health services, and urgent care
  • The Student Health Fee is not insurance – it provides access to HUHS services. This fee does not cover health care services you receive outside of HUHS. That’s why there’s the Student Health Insurance Plan, or SHIP.
