CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19): HEALTH INSURANCE FAQs 


The benefit materials, policies, and applications available on this website are currently reflective of the AY2022 plan year. We are working expeditiously to have the AY2023 information updated as soon as possible.
For now, students can view a list of AY2023 changes.
 

Your Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) benefits include coverage for certain preventive vaccines, including the following:

Bexsero Hepatitis B Pneumovax
Chicken Pox Hepatitis A + B Prevnar
COVID-19* MMR Td & TdaP
Gardasil-9 & Gardasil-4 Menomune Zostavax & Recombinant Zoster
Hepatitis A Menactra or Menveo Influenza

Outside of Harvard University Health Services, you can only receive these vaccines at a participating Rite Aid or Walgreens Pharmacy as part of your pharmacy benefits.

Immunizations received at CVS/CVS Minute Clinics are not covered.  

IMPORTANT: Routine check-ups** are covered only if provided by HUHS.

Note: Age restrictions may apply per CDC guidelines. Some pharmacies may charge an administration fee for the vaccine.

*The COVID-19 vaccine and administration will be covered at any retail pharmacy, provider's office, and/or vaccination site. 
** Routine check-ups are annual visits, with a primary care physician, performed to assess your general health.
